Why Reiki?

Ki (pronounced 'Kee') - Life Force Energy

Although research shows a Reiki healing style created as early as 1914, it is in Mikao Usui (Usui Sensei), pictured above, that the world refers to as the creator of the Reiki System of Healing back in 1922.  Usui developed practitioner methods and also a formal attunement so the technique could be passed to others to learn Reiki and become teachers.  Demand for Reiki became so great that he outgrew his clinic and his reputation as healer spread throughout Japan.  The Japanese government issued him an award for honourable work helping others.  

Reiki is a Japanese, energy healing technique for relaxation, reducing stress and promotes healing emotionally, physically and spiritually.  Reiki is specific to each person and presents itself differently to each person in a session.  As such, for some, you may experience quite a profound experience while for others, it may be more subtle.  Whatever you experience during your session or how you feel afterwards, you can be assured, the Reiki energy has worked for your highest good.  Reiki energy will go where it needs to. 

  • Reiki is life energy and is a predominantly 'hands off' technique

  • Reiki energy heals by flowing through the Chakras (main energy points in the body) and clearing blockages

  • Reiki can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it 

  • Reiki can NEVER cause harm

  • Reiki compliments medicine

  • Reiki is not a religion or belief

  • Reiki can be sent by distance through focused intent - travel is not necessary
